Islamorada dolphin

The February Islamorada fishing report is a mixture of offshore and reef fishing. It has started off well and should be a great month. Come on down and remember we are booking Ocean City trips for June through September.

Feb 2

A few half day trips this week. We had plenty of action on the reefs with the king mackerel and plenty of snappers. We will be fishing for sails and wahoo later in the week. Fishing is great in Islamorada.

We also released some groupers.

Feb 3

Kansas City family fished with us today. The boys did a great job on the fish. We got a bunch of king mackerel and plenty of snappers for dinner. we even picked up a dolphin. Tried a little deep jigging , but didn’t do well.

Feb 5

Had some action the last 2 days. A lot of sails and some dolphin. The weather has been great in Islamorada and the offshore fishing report is good.

Feb 10

The February Islamorada fishing report has been dominated by king mackerel. they are plentiful and we are doing well on them.

Yellowtail snapper fishing has been good in the morning and fair in the afternoon.

The conditions haven’t been good for sailfish , but we have had a few.

We fished the Islamorada Bartenders tournament on the 12th. We didn’t do well on sails but we got some blackfin tuna and a couple of dolphin.

Feb 12

A nice day fishing the Islamorada Bartenders Open, but we didn’t raise any sailfish. We got some tuna and dolphins though.

Feb 17

There a a lot of king mackerel around. The weather has been good for a few days and the mackerel are cooperating.  we are getting amberjacks on the deep wreck. We are seeing yellowtails and some nice red groupers on the reefs.

Caught a few snappers and some kings this afternoon. Really rough so we were back early.

Karma rewards those who do good.Chris and Kelli Gee helped out with donations after IRMA.  Had them out today and got some nice snappers including 1 very nice mutton snapper.

Got a morning trip in today. It was rough but the snapper fishing was good. The water around the reef was dirty, but that usually helpd the bottom fishing. We did a good job on the snappers, some nice Muttons and yellowtails.
